Singapore and South-East Asia

Support for Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the region

Many businesses in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines have an Indian founder, an Indian subsidiary, or a finance team that works with India. The working day overlaps for most hours, so calls and month-end deadlines fit into normal office time.

  • Bookkeeping and month-end close in Xero, QuickBooks Online or Zoho Books, with schedules ready for your local corporate secretary, tax agent or auditor.
  • Group reporting and consolidation where a Singapore or Hong Kong holding company owns an Indian operating company.
  • Management reports, cash flow forecasts, budgets and investor or lender packs for regional start-ups and family businesses.
  • Indian side of cross-border flows: tax on royalties, fees and dividends paid to or from India, treaty relief under India's tax treaties with Singapore, Malaysia and other countries, TDS and Form 15CA and 15CB.
  • Financial models for fund-raising, expansion into India, and project or acquisition decisions.
  • Finance automation with Python, Excel VBA and Google Apps Script to cut manual reconciliations.

Statutory filings and audits in Singapore and other countries remain with locally licensed professionals; the work here prepares the numbers they rely on.

Why it works remotely

Experience built inside finance functions

More than 25 years of finance leadership across edible oil refining, cement, retail and highway construction, in India and East Africa, including multi-currency accounting, lender reporting and ERP migrations to SAP and Oracle. That experience is the basis for advice that fits how a business actually runs.

Time zones

India Standard Time is two and a half hours behind Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong and covers most of their working day, as well as the full working day in the UAE and East Africa, the afternoon in Australia, the morning in the UK and Europe, and early morning or evening calls for the US and Canada. A fixed weekly call keeps the work on schedule.

How an engagement starts

  1. A short call to understand the business, systems and what you need.
  2. A written scope and engagement letter with a fixed monthly fee for recurring work.
  3. Access set up in your accounting system and shared drive, with permissions you control.
  4. The first month's close or deliverable, followed by a review call.

What stays with your local professionals

Statutory audits and tax filings that your local law reserves for locally licensed accountants remain with them. The work here supports them with clean books, reconciliations and schedules, which usually makes their work faster and cheaper.

Questions from international clients

Can an Indian chartered accountant keep books for a business outside India?

Yes. Bookkeeping, month-end close, management reporting and financial modelling can be done remotely in your own accounting system, such as QuickBooks Online, Xero or Zoho Books, following your country's accounting conventions. Statutory audit and tax filings that your local law reserves for locally licensed professionals remain with your local accountant, and the work is coordinated with them.

Which time zones do you cover?

India Standard Time overlaps with most of the working day in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong, the full working day in the UAE and East Africa, the afternoon in Australia, the morning in the UK and Europe, and the early morning or late evening in the US. Weekly calls are scheduled in your time zone.

How is work shared securely?

Work is done in your cloud accounting system with a user login you control, and documents are exchanged through a shared drive with access limited to the people involved. A confidentiality clause is part of every engagement letter.

How are fees agreed and paid?

Scope and fees are agreed in writing in an engagement letter before work begins, usually as a fixed monthly fee for recurring work. Invoices can be raised in US dollars, pounds, euros or dirhams and paid by international bank transfer.

Do you help foreign companies doing business in India?

Yes. Support covers Indian tax on payments to and from India, TDS on payments to non-residents and treaty relief, GST on cross-border services, and coordination of company and regulatory filings for an Indian subsidiary or branch with the relevant specialists.

Do you work with businesses in Singapore?

Yes. Bookkeeping, month-end close, management reporting, financial models and finance automation are provided remotely to businesses in Singapore and South-East Asia, along with the Indian tax side of payments between India and Singapore under the India-Singapore tax treaty. Singapore statutory filings and audits stay with local corporate secretaries, tax agents and auditors.
